11 Covered firing points with targets at 25-50-75-100-200 yards.

GCL’s Rifle Range is designed to provide a safe and comfortable environment for enjoying shooting sports. Adequate parking is available behind and close to the firing line.

GCL’s Rifle Range consists of a covered firing line of (11) positions, permitting year round use regardless of weather. Permanent target holders are installed at 25, 50, 75, 100 and 200 yards. Target backers are available for member use. Members supply their own targets. Benches are at most positions suitable for right or left hand shooters. Members may shoot from the bench, or practice from prone, kneeling or offhand. Shot guns may be patterned from position number one if the member brings a target backer. Shotgun slugs only may be fired at club backers from any position. Hand guns shooting is also permitted on the rifle range, provided no one needs the position for rifle shooting.

Youths 12 years of age are permitted to shoot under adult supervision provided the youth and adult has completed a hunter safety program. (NYS Law)
Immediate family members may participate as a guest with no limit to the number of visits. Members are responsible for their guests. A member may bring up to (2) two guests at a time. After three visits the guest is expected to join GCL.

GCL’s rifle range hosted the shooting events for the Empire State games when held in Rochester.

GCL sponsors John Garand / CMP high power matches regularly throughout the year. Consult the calendar of events for upcoming scheduled matches. This match will qualify shooters for the Civilian Marksmanship Program of purchasing the M-1 Garand and other rifles as available.

The club has (4) M-1 Garands, and (3) M-1 carbines and some shooting equipment on a loan basis for first time shooters.
